Grains, hay, grass, that sort of thing. Tree leaves can be given as a treat once in a while. They are herbivores. They do need a lot of it as they have a double set of teeth and therefore eat quite a large amount. I recommend feeding them two large meals twice a day and two to three snack portions throughout the rest of the day. They are currently at about waist-height on me but when they are fully grown, they will be nine feet tall at the shoulder and their heads will stand even taller.
They are quite enormous and very fast. On some worlds, fathier racing is a sport that many enjoy watching and betting on. I'm sure I don't have to tell you this but be kind to them. Fathiers are often mistreated in an attempt to get them to perform better but I think everyone in that house is more than aware not to do such a thing to the beasts.
Some believe in treating others kindly only if they can turn a profit for them. The moment they are no longer useful, they discard them as being useless.

Well, I believe those people are duckspit of the highest caliber, and they don't deserve to have these kind of animals as pets. They can go race snails or something.
